Brand new page!

Just did this today. Most of the stuff I used is from the latest Scarlet Lime kit. I wasn't that excited about some of the papers, so I made an extra effort to use them. The idea for the layout came from one I saw in the latest issue of Simple Scrapbooks.

Paper by American Crafts and Tinkering Ink, stickers by Making Memories and American Crafts. The font is Pea Tisha.

This is a page I just finished - well, almost finished. I still don't have a good photo of my friend, yet.

Everything is from K & Company's Amy Butler line. I trimmed the title off the journaling block because it didn't go with the page. (I also got the package of journaling stickets on clearance at Jo-Ann's for $0.97!)

Today, I am going to talk about fonts.

Never, ever, EVER pay for a font. Don't. I'll disown you if you do.

Why? Because there are SO MANY free fonts on the internet. If you can't find the perfect font for your project, you're just not trying hard enough.

Here are some of my favorite font sites:
DaFont
misprinted type
eknp
Simply The Best Fonts
Abstract Fonts
Font Bros
Fonts For Peas

There are many more font sites, too. Have fun downloading, and remember: don't pay for fonts!

Another page! The thing I like about this one is it looks like it took way more effort than it did.

The paper is by DCWV, from the Rockstar line. The cardstock I used for mats is some random cardstock I had lying around. :) I think the font is Times New Roman? Or it could be Tribune. Whichever.

I am finally posting another of my finished pages!

Everything is from K & Company's Amy Butler line, except for the black rub-on, which is Basic Grey. Oh, and the clear photo corners are some random ones I've had for years. I think the font is Sylfaen.
(I redacted my friend's real name because I felt weird about publically posting it in a blog - especially without her permission.)

Woo! So I got my first kit from Scarlet Lime, and I love it! I've already made a page from it, take a look:

Everything is from the kit except for the orange&yellow flower that's on the tag - it's from the Marcella line by K & Company.

I'm pretty excited to use the rest of the stuff in the kit. Not all of it is necessarily my usual style, so I feel like it'll challenge me.

four.

Just got some new clear stamps - these swirls by Autumn Leaves, and these flippin' adorable birds by Inkadinkado.

I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of the bird ones, but they were so cute I couldn't resist. Maybe I'll make some notecards using them.

I am really digging these chipboard birds by Scenic Route. Birds seem to be a really big trend right now, and while I don't think I'll make a ton of bird-accented pages, a few would be quite cute.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures of my pages up in my next post.

two.

Lately I've been really into the Amy Butler line by K & Company. It's waaaaay more girly than I usually am, but so cute! I've been using the papers & embellishments to make pages celebrating each of my friends.
(My only complaint - and I've noticed this on lots of K & Co's stuff - too much glitter! I know how to put glitter on things if I want to, but it's pretty impossible to remove once it's there.)

I also really like this paper (Hey Sugar: Honey Honey) by Cosmo Cricket, even though I haven't seen it in person yet. Hopefully one of my local stores will have it. I don't know what I'll use it for once I get it, but I WANT it.

one.

I've decided to start a blog to ramble about scrapbooking. Well, scrapbooking and my approach to it - that of a single twentysomething with no kids who mainly scraps her friends, cats, and concert pictures.

More posts soon. For now, it is after 2am, and time for bed.
